I have read that it's not wise to place it against the back wall and to leave space back there....

how much space is the minimum....or does it really matter??

i have seen tanks that didn't leave space...

Oh yeah dude, you can do better than that. You could start out with an inverted U and work up the back. I did that at first and then built off to the side. I ended up with something really weird, but with lots of caves, crevasses and fissures that the fish (and coral) could swim through (and habitate). With the amount of LR you have in there now, you have a good start. With each addition you can improve on the design. Some coral like to hide under ledges, so you may want to include at least one in the design. I had no use for mine until I got a chili coral. They don't like light. Later.......John.

lol yeah i know... just a small blurb in my defense... this was the last time i arranged it... i was not my favorite by far... it's just the last arrangement that I took a picture of for you all to see the rocks...

I also stopped by the LFS and go some epoxy on my way home from work... so i'll think about designs possible with attaching the rocks together too

LOL, dude, you should have seen my first three attempts. It was pathetic. I had nooooo idea what was up. I finally settled on the sand lagoon idea out of a book and it worked well for me. I did it for the Tang. What kind of Epoxy can we use anyway? I have heard of some stuff that can be used underwater, but is this really just the stuff you pick up at the hardware store? Just more expensive?

Ok heres something new... I was able to use every piece but one....comments, suggestions, criticism?

Water was a bit cloudy from moving rocks around....

    First is from Right....
    Second from front...
    Third from Left....

The branchy piece I ended up standing straight up in the back and using as a support for the arch.
