What to do with my 5 gal.?

Soo... I decided to do a mantis shrimp tank!!

My boyfriend wanted a little tank for our nightstand, and fell in love with the awesomeness of the mantis shrimp, so we set it up last night with a nice deep sand bed, and mixed up the saltwater. Will be adding some dry rock, and a cup or two of live sand from my main tank today

Can't wait to see it! I have a small 5 gallon on my desk. It was once freshwater with a lone guppy in it, but I've started adding a small amount of salt every top off... And I now have a saltwater guppy ... Been looking for something else to do with it. Guess I'll need find a new home for the guppy and probably mimic your tank!

 

I was going to say that 5G is probably too small for a proper QT in my opinion... but sounds like you found something cooler than that!

I've been wanting to set up a small saltwater tank at my work for something like this... been meaning to go to the nano forums and check some ideas out. zoas and a cleaner shrimp would be nice.

 

Don't mantis shrimp make a ton of noise banging on stuff at night? Might not be a good choice if right next to your bed if they do imo.
