i have a ten gallon aquarium up and running. it is a week into the cycle right now. the thing is i dont know what to do with it. i wanted to do a mantis tank but am now leaning toward a mni reef/frag tank. any ideas guys and gals?

also if it was a mini reef then i would not have any fish in it just coral and inverts like cleaner shrimp. would i need a skimmer?

I'm in the process of turning my extra 10 G into a Fuge so if you dont have a refugium, a 10 should be awesome for your 29. Should be done today hopefully.

yea i want to do a fuge/sump under the tank now. i have an extra reptile light that should grow chaeto fairly easily but i dont really know what i need pump wise. any ideas? i know it needs to pump aroun 145-290 GPH but whaty brand and how many do i need?

also can some one show me a simple set up of how to make an under the tank sump?

First you will need an overflow to the sump. I dont know what type of tank you have but im assuming its just a standard 29 non drilled. If so, you will need an overflow box and depending on the distance of your sump from your fuge, you will need a return pump. I'm about to use a pump rated at 300gph for a 4ft head. People have different opinion as to how much much flow they like in their fuges. I think I'll get slow enough flow for a fuge to do its thing and for a "DSB" I am going to use kitty litter. I'm still a little skeptical but I think I'm gonna go through with it.

We have a 40g reef up and running it's 15 years old and we have never had a skimmer it's a good investment it's not a must have. It would look nice if you want to do a reef tank. Please let us know what you decide to do with it and pictures would be great. Thanks.

Subscribe to this thread and in a few days when I have everything set up, I'll take pictures of everything so you can see how I got it set up and what everything is. Until then I suggest just researching as much as you can on the subject.
