I pour it in the street... when I move, I'll have to find a "dead spot". probably will be in the fire pit...

Sometimes I pour it down the toilet. I know my drains are not copper. They are white plastic. Probably PVC of some sort.

You can save SW. It's been around indefinitely. Just make sure it's sealed OR constantly mixing. One or the other. Covered does not equal sealed.

But if you're only keeping it for a few weeks at a time, covered is fine. I seal mine and keep it for months and months and months at a time. Just remix it before next use.

Down any of your household drains is fine. Plumbing drains are either ABS, PVC or if your in an older home you might have clay (terra cotta) or even cast iron.

This is good news. I didn't know you could keep water in a container w.o. water movement. I was worried about it becoming stagnant, but I guess if the container is covered & CLOSED(with a heater of course) then this is not a problem?...just stir well & wait for it to dissolve?

Woaha! Thanks Guitarman and Pickupman, plumbing was a large part of my career for a long time, never dealt with septics though, now I have a septic tank as we bought a house out in the country a few years ago,and the thought of the salt killing the bacteria and enzymes in the tank has never crossed my mind.Very interesting and helpful advise!K+ to both of you.

Great question Darkhorse, love the avatar-reminds me of a joke-I don't allways date ugly women, but when I do.........;D I'd probably get banned if I finished it.

I use the waste water from my RO/DI to wash laundry. I installed the unit in the laundry room and the waste hose goes in the washer until it's full. I do a load of clothes and then repeat. I wouldn't use the tank water to wash clothes with though. :)

I have been pouring mine right out in the front yard besides the sidewalk to my front door for almost 2 yrs and it has not killed anything. It may have drowned an ant but other than that.....Maybe I just have some type of weird mutant grass :)

I tried using my excess salt water and water from water changes as a weed killed but honestly it didnt do anything.
When I broke down my 55 gallon tank, I actually pump 20-30 gallons of saltwater onto a big bush that sits outside my window (i just strung a hose from my tank out my window) and nothing happened to it.
Maybe we have super plants here.
