what type of clown is this

looks to be a clarkii

 

I have one to and love him!!! (or her i suppose) If i add one or two more very small Clarkii will that cause an aggression issue? Mine has been in the tank and hosted by an LTA for about 5 months now.

 

You really should only add them as a pair from the start. If you add 2 more now one will become female and choose her mate and the third may become the subject of some aggression.

 

Thats kind of what i was thinking. If i add one or two (not saying i will) that are vary small, will the one i have now be or become the female..it is about 2 1/2 inches long at the moment. I realize i should have added all as a group at the time, however i was a bit more nieve and there were no other Clarkii available. I got the one i have along with the LTA because they were already hosting. If there is a reasonable chance of having a problem, then i will not make additions and will leave things be.

 

Hard to say which one will become female. It is usually the larger more dominant one that takes on the female role : )

 

The lil strip on his tail and and on his top fin threw me off got him from lfs there real bad about i.d fish well there just bad but only store around I lost my Fiji clown and need a new one for my nem ok wanted one and at 10 $ jumped on it

The one that has been alone is already female. If one juvie is added now, it will become male. While they will most likely pair, it is usually a more violent courtship than if they were introduced together.

I'd never recommend more than one pair. The 'odd man out' can end up being bullied to death.
