I bought this guy about a month ago and it was doing really well or so it seemed until this morning not sure what is happening. The only thing that has changed is we redirected my Korelias for a more circular flow although he is at the opposite end of the tank. Also did not add buffer during last 10% water change which i do monthly.

Is something eating it ? Is is starving? I usually feed the corals in the tank with rotifers when the pump is not running for about an hour which seemed to be working my other corals all seem to be doing well and fish are happy.

Here are my prams which i currently test for

    No2 - 0
    Nh3/Nh4 - 0
    Ca2+ - 400
    Ph - 8.2 (little low)
Salinity 1.30 ( little high no buffer added during WC)

As always we appreciate the feedback

Forgot to mention we recently decided on its final spot and used aquatic glue to affix in place could it have been the hand pressure we used to stick?

Goniopora. The green ones like you have don't normally do well in captivity. They have special feeding requirements and usually don't survive long. Sorry but looks like it is on it's way out.

It could just be upset over being handled when you glued it down but they usually don't live very long.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Count the tentacles on the polyps heads.

    Alevopora:12 tentacles
    Goniopora:24.

This type of coral can get very touchy with relation to flow, try less flow first.

The issue with this corals is nutritional requirements. Moderator Inwall ( Curt ) has some good suggestions for feedings. A step in the right direction would be products containing zooplankton. Mix frozen cubes and other fine particle meaty foods into a slurry and then feeding the coral. One food type will most likely not meet it's needs long term.

The SG as you know is too how at 1.030 that type of swing will cause stress as well.

    Good Luck

not to rain on your parade, i know nothing about this coral except like coraline said they require extra feeding like a sun coral would..

but you said you feed rotifers, you will get more results if you strictly feed the tank with zooplankton... very few corals benefit from rotifer liquid, zooplankton is a meaty supplement that corals absolutely love and almost all corals accept zooplankton
