What type of overflow?

I could never get the thing to be quiet no matter how much adjusting I did. I tried it with a ball valve and w/o. Then a combination of reducing the pump output and leaving it up all the way. Never could get it to shut up. Plus I had a custom built fuge that started to bow so I decided to take it out before a catastrophic failure. And to top it all off, the change in flow pattern in my tank stirred up some debris that had settled causing my tank to be cloudy for a few days which in turn caused me to lose all but one of my SPS corals and my duncans. So needless to say that overflow box is not at the top of my "good equipment" list right now. I think if I had started my tank with it, I would have been a lot happier.
