What type of shrimp is this?

    Sauron Shrimp there are a few different species. Mixed views on their reef compatibility twoards soft and LSP corals

    That is exactly what I thought. It is in my sump right now, where it will stay.

    I had one for years it never ate any zoas or anything. Did you buy it or was it a hitch hiker?

    It came in as a hitchhiker on some feather dusters at work today. I like to bring home the hitchhikers and keep them in my sumps.

    Its ridiculous for me to say after my tirades against peppermint shrimp but I would give it a shot. I love those shrimp they look cool.

    Cool shrimp! My book says it's a Saron aka marbled shrimp. It gets 2.75-3.25 inches, readily accept most meaty foods and will prey on sessile inverts. Says it's good for FOWLR systems but may be attacked by Hawkfish, dottybacks and anything else that likes crustaceans. They may also snatch small fish such as gobies but this is rare.
