What was I thinking?!

thanks for the info but I'm not sure if it'll help much. I actually realized something; I don't think there's actually a crack. My dad told me that maybe there's too much weight in the tank, which makes sense, especially after I got 40 lbs of live sand. THIS IS A REALLY BAD EFFECT OF THE BIOCUBE AND IT SUCKS @$$!!! they really should've seen that coming. I'm 100% sure that if I had 40 lbs of sand in a 29 gallon tank made of glass or acrylic that there'd be no leaks, but it's happening here because the biocube has those plastic rims thingies surrounding the glass, and THATS F***ING BS!!! I actually think I might need a new tank if I cant repair this; I'm assuming that the weight might have made a small gap between the plastic rim thingies which is why water is coming out in little drops..... Damn it! need a new game plan here...

 

Well if the glass isnt cracked you can try to re-silicone the joints. Im not too familiar with bio cubes... and if it makes you feel any better, I noticed some water near the base of my tank.... I will continue to monitor it for the next few days but I may have a crack :-/ how ironic! Just wish I wasnt renting an apartment so i could actually upgrade to a bigger setup!

Can't you buy a 55g and place it on the ground till you find a stand? Isn't the tank in your room?

 

no its in the living room (i wish it was in my room). I share my room with my older brother so there are 2 beds, 2 giant shelves, and stand with a TV (brand new), and a stand with trophies and whatnot

 

Well the tank is getting worse by the day. I'm gonna try to drain it and take out some stuff and then try to use silicone, but practically every piece of plastic is leaking. the biocube is good but if you add too much its a POS; i liked it so much and got it, but now im paying for its crappy attributes. I SHOULD'VE STARTED MY OWN TANK THEN WITH A 29 GALLON GLASS TANK!

 

Buy a 10g at petco and put everything in their till you find a new tank. Why hasn't your dad help you?

 

He is in a way; he's putting silicone but it;s not working cuz the damn tank is getting f***ed up. what really crushed me is when he said that my tank was the worst idea he's ever had... really made my dream of marine bio disappear... but anyway at least i still get to keep the "dying" POS. And yeah i gots a ten gallon and thats where im putting everything for a while

 

Sorry things seem to be going so badly. My dad pays for most of my tank as well. A few times, he's suggested I sell the tank & that it was a waste of money...I'm glad I didn't listen to him, in the long-run. But at the time, I was crushed.

I also plan to go into marine-bio.

 

nice! well at least its not bugging me as much anymore so I'm just coping with this POS and so im gonna start tomorrow draining and putting rock in my 10 gallon tank
