Birdlady, I'm afraid it's one I won't forget for awhile! It's one of those things that you really don't want to admit. I think I might have been able to win some money on funniest videos! Lol.

I've had the RO/DI flood the kitchen so many times I've lost count. :) I finally upgraded to a 32G Brute trash can with the castors. Haven't had a problem since because it's pretty hard to miss the trash can sitting in front of the sink.

My worst one was when the hose on my return pump came loose, and like mentioned before shot water all over the power strip, which turned off right away thank goodness. Well I get home from work and i'm like, "Why are the light out, and what's with the water on the floor?"

I flip the reset on the surge protector (because I didn't see the hose was loose) and the pump turns back on, sprays me in the face while splashing all over the inside of my stand, proceeds to spray the surge protector again which now catches on fire! It was just a little puff of flame which went out right away, thank God.

I still to this day have visions of coming home one day to see the fire department parked in my yard hosing the house down because something stupid happened with one of my tanks. :)

Well a couple weeks ago i was testing out a skimmer (Berlin HOB). So i hok it up on the front of the tank, since this isnt permanent. So as soon as i started that thing up, bubbles all over the tank, long story short... Now I im getting kinda pissed after a while of tweeking so i grab some sponge that i had extra from an old filter... cut it up and ram it up the 2 water returns on the skimmer. Thinking thaht the sponge would stop the bubbles. WRONG!!! i jamed up the songe so hard that the water wasnt comming out enough.. so you can guess what happend. Water was pouring out the collection cup. i was already soaked and when i bent over to grab the wire to unplug the pump (wich i usually keep in my hands when i test stuff out so i can unplug anything fast) water kept overflowing on my head... really fun. So im guessing about 2 - 3 gallons on me and on the floor... but im sure i got the most of it...

    A very wet Marc.

i had my first leak(half my fault) experience last night. my seaclone started a small leak at the base of the intake tube that connects to the reaction chamber. i think the seal is shot. so i tried reaching around the back to see if the tube just needed to be pushed in a bit, out pops the tube from the base of the skimmer. water just flowing out from the skimmer, i grab it and make a mad dash for the kitchen sink. next i turn back to access the damage, i see i didnt unplug the pump and its pump'n water free flow right to the floor. i only lost a gallon or two, but with my wife standing there it made it alot worse. saying see i told you bla bla.
    boy did that suck.

My worst flood was when the hose popped off my overflow box on my 90 gallon and water drained everywhere, I was at work and received a phone call from my mother who was ready to kill me when I got home. I since learned to glue the tubing to the overflow bulkhead. I haven't had any floods since moving into my new house with my fiance, but just the same she will be ready to kill me if the tank floods on our wood floors.
