    Re: water changes

I found that if I didn't do a 5 gallon water change on my 20 nano aquarium once a week, things went to heck very fast. Of course overstocking it didn't help. ::)

Different tanks have different requirements, that is for sure!

Well the last water I changed was yrs and yrs ago and then it was maybe 10 gals in a 200+ tank then . But if I ever see some new water I'll use it :) all the water here has been here since dirt and the only thing that is doe to it is filtered , And elements dissolve back to replenish any that may be needed . Bottom line is water we drink today was used to flush with in the past..

I see more animal stress problems from them then benefits myself. Polyps do not extend for a few days clams tweak and fish will often times display a bit of Ich.

    +1

Maybe a little more depending on how the tank is acting.

Only if nitrates become an issue. Lately water changes are few and far between. Seems to be working well so far.

Being that I am overstocked in both tanks, I do around 30% every 2 to 3 weeks. Seems to be working my coral line algae is coming back and the hair algae is going away. The price you have to pay for having to many fish!:-/

I used to do it everyweek, but have noticed to my tank flourish's when I do 20-30% everymonth-2 months. I supplement my tank with whatever it needs.
