I have a 150 gal. tank thats 27" high with a hood thats 11". I am running 2-10000k 36" 39watt T-5 with 4 39 watt 460 T-5 actinic and don,t have enough light. I'm thinking about doing away with the two 10000k T-5 and adding metal hailides. What wattage and how many halides would you add to a 72" long x 18" deep x 27" high reef tank. Iwould like to be able to keep all taype of corals. My thought was either 3-250 or 3- 400 watt. Also should they be HQI or mogal? Remember though I have 37" to bottom of tank from where the lights are mounted inside the hood. Also I would continue to use the T-5 actinics.

    Thanks
    Greg

I my self run 3/400 watts *MH single end* on a 220gal.
    ( its 30 inches tall ) @10,000K bulbs.
But I also run super blue actinics with these , one *70 inch on inside and back side (2) total.
they do work great ! and provide alot of light for the bottom dwellers.

Dont waste your money or time on 250w bulbs for a 27" tank. I would go for at least (2) 400w bulbs. I know a person who has (3) 400w bulbs on a 180g tank. Just my 2 cents. Luna
