Here's something I have done when they are tough to reach: attach an air line to the end of the syringe ;)

    That is a great idea.

You could also invest in a few peppermint shrimp. Most of them love aiptasia for dinner. I bought two for my 90g (I had a very minor problem). Within a week, the ones I could not reach were gone.

    Aiptasia???

Plucking, injecting boiling, Joe'sJuice, etc. only make your Aiptasia problem worse. Aiptasia are like crabs, you pull off their claw and another one grows back. The same is true with Aiptasia....only a hundred fold!! When you mess with or stress an Aiptasia, they naturally release "little chucks" of themselves into the water column and the "chuncks" grow tiny aiptasia. This is why they are a pain!!
Save your money and buy their dreaded natural predator ...Berghia Nudibranchs. I've been using them for almost 4yrs and will not use anything else.
The only downside, if you wanna consider it, is that they may be easily predated by other tank inhabitants, especially peppermint shrimp (go figure)....some brittle stars and some crabs. Depending on how bad of an infestation vs. how many berghia you put in your tank, it will usually take a couple of months to see any change because the berghia start with the small aiptasia first. Berghia will also starve once their food (aiptasia) are all gone. Berghia only eat aiptasia, nothing else. Give them a try!!

Pretty good site with info & all plus cheapest prices I've found. Also, don't forget that berghia reproduce, so you can move them from tank to tank if need be.

berghia4u I think is the name.

I had an issue with a couple tiny aiptasia between the mantle and shell on two of the clams in my tank. Couple peppermint shrimp later and there are none to be found. Looked into the Berghia route, but they are expensive and most of the folks I have spoken with who had first hand experience expressed concern over there effectiveness and fragility.
$10 bucks locally for a pair of peppermints sure beats $60+shipping for a trio of tiny nudis with questionable survivability

I've had all kinds of problems over the years with peppermints. It's like the "luck fo the draw" with them. I can tell you with all certainty, two, three or ten peppermints will not do 1/4 the job of a trio of berghia. Yeah, ten bucks for a shrimp that'll eat all the fish food he can nab first!! When you have thousands tied up in a tank undergoing an aiptasia infestation, 60 buck plus shipping is peanuts.
