What were they doing????????????

    I just witnessed a very strange thing in my tank My Perc Clown was running his open mouth back and forth on the side of my hippo tang, He wasn't biting it he had his mouth open and rubbing it on the tang and the tang was just letting it do it!!! What were they doing???????????? ...John

    I don't know but the clown didn't seem to be doing it aggressively, He was doing it kind of gently :-*

    Ah yes, I believe that's called "train wreck-itis" :)

    A gentle mouthing is a much different thing in the fish world than it is in the people world. I see it as a sign of aggression....in the fish world [smiley=laughing016.gif]

    Definitely sounds like some sort of fishy dispute. I have never witnessed this in my marine fish. This is very typical behavior for my Cichlids. If it gets out of hand your fish may get injured. I would keep on eye on the situation and see if it gets worse.
