I got to experience that last week. I had been wanting a Long-nose Hawkfish for a very long time. I finally found this baby one (inch and a half) at the LFS. I brought him home and watched him all night, literally. The next day I watched him off and on. I came home later and my 6-line wrasse was using his mouth like a torpedo to keep ramming into my hawk fish. He looked like he had been to hell and back in the couple hours I was gone. I tried to catch that stupid wrasse for HOURS and couldn't. Needless to say, I couldn't protect my little friend forever and the next morning he was gone. I was SO mad. I still hate that dumb wrasse, but I am stuck with him. I am going to look around and find one much bigger than my wrasse and hopefully he will eat him!!!!

The worst part is not only you being bummed out, but my children have to name EVERYTHING that comes in our house. In the tank we have: Bubbles-Yellow Tang (in Finding Nemo), Benny the Blenny, Toby and Coby the Gobies, Sticky the Anemone, and my personal fav Toady the Toadstoal Leather, to name a few. So after my kids name everything that phychologically builds a sort of bond. We once had Puffy the Pufferfish and after he died my daughter, then about 5, cried so hard, you would have thought she lost a parent. I tried really hard not to laugh, but on the other hand, was sadden at what he meant to her. So, that makes for a double bummed. :(

In the spirit of it all, I go to the LFS spend a couple hundred and feel much better about the situation.
