WOW! that is one AWESOME post! you mentined things that i would have not of thought of doing, and i think i will do it, doesnt sound to hard :D And getting out of debt is very important to me, especially since when my sister moved out of the house with her BF to another state, they had no money saved up, and they just went out and did it, and now are deeply in debt for having to get multiple c.c.'s in order to be afford to move out, and now they are living with his parents since they couldnt pay for the bills with being in dept, and have a baby on the way. Deffiently don't want to be in that kind of position especially with how far in debt they are.

lol and you have given far better advice than my mom would of have, all she would have said is just start saving up and pay off your credit cards

    Puffer Chick,

That means a bunch to me - I was a little worried you would be offended.

A little piece of info - no matter how old you are, you will always be someone's kid. Um, with that said, I was WELL into adulthood when I hit a wall and had my father help me figure out how to dig out.

I would never have gone on like this without having experienced it personally. The fact that you are observing and learning from your sister's experiences is a very positive sign that you will take this seriously.

We are all living in very difficult and trying times right now - it is easier to deal with these things when you have the support of a parent or friend to "report to" while you tackle an issue. Believe me, there is a load of karma involved with this - stay the course and you WILL find balance.

    Best of luck!

I would do 1 or 4. You can't do the sell all and make even or get close. So might as well hold on to what you have do not stock more. Stop sinking money in something that is sinking you. Spend your money on getting your C.C.'s in line and get moved and settle up somewhere else. If you sell all you will truly miss this hobby and regret the sell. So QUIT SPENDING MONEY. Get your priorities in order then get paid up and moved and then get ahead and start from the middle not having to start over. Remember all the love and energy yo put into it. Why let it all go after all you have done. Good Luck in what ever you do. Pray about it and get better answer's than we have.

Kepp your tank as is and stop buying fish, corals, and equipment. Just because it is a new toy or cool fish doesn't mean you need it. Nowadays your credit can decide many factors. Maybe get a 2nd job to pay for the hobby and leave your full time job earnings towards moving out. Don't ruin your credit for a ****ing fish. As simple as that....sorry if i was blunt or harsh with that last part.

Deffietnly not offended :D Sounds like youve experienced quite a bit of debt in your life, had to of been tough.

And best thing about right now about my parents is i dont have to move out if i dont want to :D they are actually trying to discourge me from wanting to move out. So if i can't get my two c.c's paid down and cant save up enough money by my goal date, its ok. But until then it will be planning out and watching my spending, save and get my credit cards down, but in all seriousnes if i didnt have my tank i would not be in debt and i would have a lot more money than i do now, so if i just stop spending money on my tank, i should be ok :D but this will take a ton of effort and be an extremly hard thing to do, especially since i go to the lfs all the time for water, and they always have new things

It sounds like you know what you have to do, but don't necessarily want to do it. I would sell all the livestock and keep the tank and equipment, or sell the tank too to get extra money. Wait until your financial situation is better and start back up better and with more knowledge. I love this hobby, as I am sure you do too, but you can't let it affect these very major decisions and needs in life.

yea, and im thinking that i can come back even better when i get in a more stable living situation after i move out, even though it would be the same tank, i could possibly get a different stand and there for be able to have a sump, that way i would need a hob skimmer, and restocking the tank would be fun too
