All excellent suggestions. I still haven't seen "it" yet though.

ok so I have 2 of those guys ... they are pretty but they move about as much as a plastic bobber fish would. hehehe not very entertaining to watch. I vote for the midas. LA has them from time to time.

You must have a "special" set of yellow tails... cause they are evil fish in my experance. Damsels are one of the most "returned to the local fish store fish"
;D You my friend got very lucky with the damsel pair.

From my knowledge, once you remove the female then the male grows larger and takes on the role, including the nasty habits that go with it, I've seen it happen twice. Remove them both if you must, and I suggest you replace them with some sort of hawkfish. They usually aren't awful tank mates and are usually interesting and/or colorful.

I had a yellowtail damsel when I first setup the tank 9 months ago and the little devil still gives me nightmares. I'll never put any damsel in a reef tank again as long as I live. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I also had a hawkfish and it ate my cleaner shrimp. Now that I have two cleaner shrimp, a hawk fish just wouldn't be worth the risk.

No offense to anyone but I can't really stand PJ cardinals. I think they are boring and probably the ugliest fish in the hobby.

Anyway... I was able to catch my clowns very easily (I feel so bad for tricking them :,() and now they are at the LFS awaiting their new home. They were very colorful and almost perfect in every way... they just wouldn't stop harassing coral. I felt it best to keep the couple together for their sake, but I also didn't want the male to grow up and do what Jva said and have the same problem all over again.

I was able to trade straight up for a Yellow Anthias. These fish need at least a 75g tank so my 40g will only be a temporary home but in the meantime I think it will make for a nice addition of color.

Thanks again for all suggestions and help!
