As the title says how does everyones temps vary from day to night? Durring the day my temps get to about 79 almost 80. I dont want it to get that high and I am working on that. But at night the temp drops to about 76. Think thats alright? Or should I work on trying to keep it more of a stable temp at 79?

Mine goes from 78 to 80. You don't want it to change any more than 2 degrees in a day. Definitely work on controlling the range.

Is your tank open top or closed? What is your heaters wattage?

I dont have a chiller on my biocube 29 and I have a red sea prizm hooked up on back so that I get evap cooling effect and it stays between 77 and 83 degrees.Ive had no problems.

Ummm...not sure what the wattage of the heaters are but the temp doesn't drop below what the heaters can handle. The temp jumps up when the lights come on and the heaters aren't on all day. I have a fan blowing on the sump all the time and a fan blowing on the lights to try and keep it cool. I think I can keep the light from heating up the tank better after I build a proper hood.

IMO your range should not present any problems for fish or corals. These fluctuations occur in nature. 80 degrees is not too high for a coral tank. As long as it typically doesn't get higher than that, you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

79-80 for the highest temp seems fine to me,you could try just turning the heater up a notch to try to keep your temp from dropping below 78 with lights off.I think a two degree difference is pretty much the norm unless your using a very good heater, chiller, and controller.

That is exactly how my 55 gal. fluctuates and I see no problem with it. I know the ocean cools at night and warms during the day so it is quite natural. As long as the warming is gradual over say 3-4 hours after full day lighting it would mimic nature.
