It looks like a spongy type flesh....and it has little "breathe" holes poking up in spots. Is this bad for my candy cane coral? Should I scrape it off?

Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks Reefbruh....so I don't need to rip it off or anything? I see tons of little microstars climbing all in the openings
