    Going sexual is going into reproduction mode. It uses massive amounts of oxygen and can kill your tank. It seems to be caused by not enough nutrients in the water.

    how do I prevent macro from going sexual? what types of macro are problematic?

    I suggest you get chaeto and mangroves,(I also have some gracilaria grown as food for tangs) and you won't have to worry about it going sexual. Only Caulerpa goes sexual.

    dang you're right. the hitchhiked caulerpa can be a nuisance later on... im going to remove it now.
