    hmmm. well, your setup is a little odd for a fuge. Usually a fuge has sand, but since your opening is at the bottom, sand is out unless you are up for modding you setup slightly. You could close that bottom with acrylic and cut an opening at the top.

    First, you cant just remove all your bioballs. you have to SLOWLY remove them to avoid sending your tank into a cycle. It could be done tho.
