My 55 reef has been going good for over a year now, have 25+ species and everything is in good harmony...lots of coraline algae, lol -

I also have a 125 planted discus tank and lately have been more into the discus then the reef tank, in fact ive been thinking about selling the reef setup to buy a wild discus setup....

Im torn so not sure if im gonna sell it or not yet but just tossing it around, but if I were to decide to sell... what would be a fair price for the following:

55 gal, T-5 lighting, 30 gal sump, skimmer, mag 5 pump, overflow, 2 powerheads, 75 or 80lb live rock, 25+ species of corals...... (elegance, huge torch, open brain, various zoas, etc etc -), blue manderin, clark and a couple damsels. Tank is well established and everything is healthy.

Just a curiousity at this point....

I was thinking $300 before the corals. Their value obviously varies a lot based on species, size, and condition. Somebody new to reefing probably won't give you as much for them as an experienced reefer who is upgrading or getting a second tank. The other option might be to sell the corals individually to local reefers and then sell the tank.

You could always sell the tank to your business for $3000 take it as a tax write-off and let your customers enjoy the tank in the restaurant.

I would suggest selling the livestock then the equipment separately. I've seen many "total package" deals and not many want that. Most people respond asking for a specific piece or the livestock. Unfortunately, I don't think you will get much, you might get a 1/3 of what you paid, that's pretty normal. As for corals, it doesn't appear you have anything that fancy or rare, I just saw on another forum some one sell all of the livestock for $200, he had a similar variety to you. Then you might get another $200 for all the other equipment.
