    So I'm puzzled as to what to get next. I'm pretty new to the hobby. I recently brought home a Yellow Head Jawfish. I was intrigued by their art of living in a self made hole. I have a Blue Damsel that is the obvious dominate male of my tank. He chased the Jawfish around as soon as I introduced him into the tank. When I woke up the next morning, he had killed the Jawfish. I'm pissed, but now I'm stuck on what to do. I don't want to remove everything out of my tank to get the Damsel, but would like to get another fish. Are there any fish that my Damsel will place nice with? I have a 28G BF. I know tangs are out of the question since the need lots of room to grow and swim. BTW, I also have a Six-Line, that only got punked by the Damsel for a few minutes. They were about he same size when that happened.

    I'm not sure if an aggressive fish is the way to go or, if a fish that's bigger than the Damsel would be okay???

    Please help!

    Damsel's are HARD to catch. Honestly, I'd bite the bullet, take the rocks and stuff out.... and catch him. They live quite a long time as well.

    That way you can get the fish you really want.

    That six line is likely to bully fish put into the tank after it as well. They are usually put in as the last fish.

    i agree with nasageek. don't let that damsel determine the rest of your fish. it will be harder to remove the fish later when you have more livestock.

    I'm dreading having to remove all the rock work, but it looks like that might be the answer. Thanks guys for your insight...just bitter about the whole thing and seriously want to skewer the Damsel with a Harpoon gun!

    @mcfarrow: Trap? How?

    I'm in the same boat,in my 29g my velvet damsel has killed off my clarki clown and my valentini puffer(need to edit my signature)so now he's the only one in my somewhat newly setup tank.The blue velvet is a beautiful fish,i love his color,but i HATE that fish.He got banished from my 28cube due to coral nipping and just being mean.I had to completly take all rock out to get him out of the 28.The only reason he's still in my 29 is just because i haven't felt like taking this one apart to get him(i got a lot of rock in there),but i will before i add anything else.He don't know it yet,but he's getting an eviction notice very soon.I've had yellowtails and 3 stripes before,but none have ever been as aggressive as this guy.You want him?;D

    If youve had the fish for a while and they dont sleep in the rocks per say outside or the back of the tank, you can snag them a few hours after dark, they normally are dazed when you turn the lights on all of a sudden and are a bit slower.

    Also when I got my Damsel, a quick net sweep during feeding worked out well. They always are so chaotic during food time that they didnt see it coming :)
