i believe the American express is one of the best for the biggest kick backs, but not everyone takes it, and there's a fee just to own the card.

When I was looking at CCs I looked at the following:

    1) no annual fees
    2) lowest fixed interest rate
    3) no interest for blah blah blah for some
    4) best reviews
    5) easiest to dispute charges
    6) customer service usefulness
    7) least murdering fine print

well if your looking for a credit card maybe i can be of some help. I work at a bank and Visa is one of the cards we offer.

i have a visa and a mastercard. i have only heard of problems and bad customer service with american express so wont recomend them. Visa and mastercard are your next two options.
go for the lowest intrest you can. I have one card at 12% and my other at 5%. none of these 20% standards these days. Call customer service or customer care. and if you think your intrest is too high, it is. See what your card company will do to keep you with them. Most companies will lower your rate to keep you as a customer remember.

Next go for the premium card. The premium cards are loaded with features that can far outweigh the annual fees. Like free roadside assistance or travel insurance or more. A perfect example for cash back cards are premium cards dont have a tier set up except at usually 100,000-500,000. The free cashback cards are confusing. they will pay .5% cash back on the first 5,000 spent. 1% cash back on top of that and usually capped at like 25,000 spent in a year.

travel cards i think are a waste. They will only get you a discount on your trip. You will always have to end up paying more for something on your vacation.

Cash back cards give you money back on what you spend so it is the only real incentative i think that gives you a bonus for using it.

The one that's been cut in half with scissors.

I loathe them. Outside of a vehicle and a home, I've never really needed something soooo bad I want to get charged money to spend my own money. I was taught to save for the little things.

That being said Capital One has treated my wife and I, along with our business pretty well. Fees aren't high, interest is normal for our score, etc.

I hate CC's. being 21, i have 0 credit. Ive tried buying a new car, and basically they laughed at me. I also received a few offers in the mail like discover student card. Being a college student i gave this a whirl, come to find out i got declined!! LMFAO what a joke right. haha. I would LOVE to build credit but it seems no body out there wants to give you that initial boost to help you. and that's where i am right now. YAY America!

Id love to have one so I could get a nice tank set up and use it to pay off my interest and build credit. I feel thats a legit way of building it, no ? ;)

Snooknredz check with your bank or credit union they all offer a line of credit and if you bank with them they will wave most fees. Check the conditions first to make sure there aren't crazy fees! Your best credit earning power is paying what's due before your smacked with interest paying the minimum each month is more over detrimental. Once you have that card for a year or two and as long as you haven't faulted on your payments you can trade up because youll have a credit score.

Do you rent? If you do, do you pay for your own utilities? Do you have your own phone service? Do you pay for your own car insurance? If so, those aspects also go towards your credit score. You don't absolutely need a CC to get a good credit score.
