This comment makes my cry on the inside. A mantis hitch hiker means species tank, there's nothing bad about it :D

Our best? We had a mexican turbo for a while until he died. Still have two little bubble tip looking anems that haven't grown at all (about 0.5" across) but haven't hurt anything either. Bristle worms were ok until our six line got rid of all of them.

Bad: aiptasia, took care of this with Pep shrimp. Bubble algae, used emerald crabs. Zoa eating nudi, used tweezers and a toilet.

We also have a ton of mini-brittles and I think our peanut worm is still alive...not sure. Our wrasse and Pygmy Angel lay the hammer down on any edible critters, including but not limited to pods, worms of all kinds, pinapple sponges, more worms.

One of the best things we've ever had happen as far as our CUC goes is: our banded trochus snails (best cleaning snails I've ever seen) bred where we have hundreds of baby snails (about 3 generations of them looking at the size) that come out at night and clean clean clean. Our 2 chitons bred as well, where we have about a dozen or two scattered across our rockwork at night. Only about as long as a pencil eraser.

Good: weird slug at night, mini brittle stars, zoas, oyster, limpits, spaghetti worm. another snail that lives ina tube sends out this spider web looking stuff cant recall the name. all sorts of feather dusters and snails. and of course bunch of different types of worms and sponges.

Bad: small crab with pointed claws, cant catch him. I also hear a clicking sound coming from the tank very often, either a pistol shrimp or mantis. not sure which.

There was a thread somewhere once where a guy got a very small blue ringed octopus as a hitchhicker. I'm not sure what he did with it, but that would be an interesting decision.
