Whats the best In-sump Protein Skimmer

    im looking at protein skimmers for my 125 and im trying to figure out what skimmer is the best.

    idk thats my problem? i dont want to spend too much but i dont wanna go cheap and replace it in a year. i want it to last a while. so id say 300 give or take a few

    300 is a good median.... lotsa people like octos, vertex, and aquac's.

    I have the OCTO XP-2000 Cone. Others have it here and they love it.
    They go for $399 (m.a.p.). Wont find one cheaper unless you are using coupons.

    Vertex probably one of the best bangs for your buck from what ive been hearing on em. Vertex-180 would be one to look at.

    Too small, go for one of the new cone skimmers if any of them are in your budget, and shoot for one that is rated for at least 250 gallons.

    I have an ASM G3 on my 125 and am on the verge of wanting more skimming power.

    IMO, skimmer are rated for a tank that has soft or less demanding corals, when you get into hard corals and especially sps which require cleaner water, you should really get an overrated skimmer. It's better to spend the money now, then have to replace it in a year or two.
