I don't think that anything in a CUC really needs to be overnighted which is why John (reefcleaners) ships everything USPS Priority or Express. I have never had a problem with any of my orders that he shipped from FL to CO.

I had some other inverts in the order too! Urchins shrimp etc! I'm not knocking them at all nice guys! Just curious why they can't!

    My thoughts exactly.

I just today put in for a custom crew to restock after my move. will be like my 3rd or 4th order from him.

Your throwing money away by having snails over-nighted even if you are getting shrimp.

John has sent me starfish, urchins, corals.... Plus he always adds extra snails. All sent USPS Express

sealifeinc.net has sent me mantis shrimp, corals and seahorses by USPS Express.

Both are in FL and I'm in SD. Never had a problem except when weather held a package back for a day. Only 1 bag of snails actually froze to death and John replaced the whole order.

You are gonna be sorely disappointed when you get the pack from reefs2go. I have a friend that wouldn't listen to me just last week and spent $75 bucks on a crew. It was a joke! For the money he spent he could have had a good crew instead of the rag tag handful of dwarf ceriths, nerites and nass. vibex he got.

Why don't you just get the CUC (snails) from John now, and get the rest from a LFS?

    I will in the future!

Like I said, I am happy with their service, I'm just uncomfortable putting that amount of livestock in my tank after 2 days of shipping, especially urchins, starfish etc.! I know me and I'd worry about death too much in the tank! I'll buy from him when the weather turns and its just a basic cuc!

Sticksmith, Like I said I'll order from him in the future! But i did get a pretty comparable deal thru reefs2go! You do have to hunt around for the deals, and reefcleaners is cheaper on average for sure! But I just got 60 asst snail, 20 blue leg, 2 peppermint, 2 starfish, 50 empty shells, and a 5 polyp cluster with overnight for $64! I'll post a follow up with quality when i receive them next week! I told them not to ship till next monday so i'll be home! I can only compare to liveaquaria!

Because we don't use Fedex we don't get a discount from them. Check to see what overnight AM is with them without a discount, it is pretty high. Sorry about that, I should have included that information in your email, it maybe in a quoted portion.

Ok lesson learned! Snails were ok, but shrimp and sarfish DOA, they now want me to keep the starfish in the tank for a few days to see what happened, even though i sent them a pic of them disintegrated on the bottom! They arevery nice, but i'm not sure how dead these things need to be before they recognixe they were dead! FYi the FEDEX guy did leave it on its side, but i got to it by the time he was getting back in his truck! Oh well! John, we'll figure something out next time!
