I put water in my tank and filled it on the first of november and i cant remember when it cleared but at a point, the water was CRYSTAL clear and looked awesome. Then i got the sump and pumps together and started the system up the 9th of november and the tank still hasn't cleared. Its very cloudy. I cant really run carbon because all i have is a filter sock. Why when i do have filtration the tank is cloudy but when i dont its crystal clear?

Are your pumps/filters kicking up sand? Don't worry it'll probably clear up eventually. Give your sand some time to be colonized with bacteria, that will make it slimy and it will stay in one place better.

YES, actually, it is :) i really really like the design it is making so i didnt really point the flow away. It looks so natural. If thats the problem, ill point it away. Stupid me. If your confused (anyone) about my filtration, please read my signature, its as always up to date

Is that all base rock? you may want to get a couple of pieces of Live Rock to help

Eventually the sand will colonize with bacteria the sand and help keep it down

Thanks for the suggestions. The problem is that #1 i HATE hob's because of the massive amounts of salt creep they create. Second, i have literally zero room in my sump, its all full (the rims). Any other way other than a canister? :( :-/

I wouldn't worry about clearing up the water until you get some LR. It will clear up fast ones the biofilm gets built up.

That's very nice looking Macro Rock BTW

#1,yea your right about salt creep(i hate em for that also)#2 I temperarily hung it on the front of my tank,so it was easy to get to,and easy to remove once it does it's job, then eaily removed. But just a suggestion
