    Both are "hard" corals.

    SPS (small polyped stony)

    LPS (large polyped stony)

SPS example would be the acropora you're talking about. LPS example would be a frogspawn or hammer coral.

forget SPS and most LPS with only 150W .. ou should have 250W for LPS and some SPS and 400W for SPS

    imho...

i had 3x150W on a 100g tank and i could not make sps grow.. then i switched to 250/400/250 plafo and i had too much growth on corals..

a good way-half should be 250W (for money save and coral growth) but not all will grow with a 250W.. unless not much water high..

if you have only 15-18 inch of water a 250W may be enough (but then also some nice T5 should work) if you have over 20 inch only 400W will hit the ground of the tank with enough light power to make sps grow..
