    Hi Salsalito
Vinegar and very hot water - allow the stuff to soak and it softens up a bit making less elbow grease required

If you want to "sterilize" the tank, give it a good cleaning with bleach and water.

I used bleach and water to clean out a used tank that I bought. Works good...house smells like bleach for a while and you start to see all the pretty colors  and butterflies :stars: if you dont get your head out of the tank for fresh air! Make sure you rinse, rinse, rinse afterwards.

I used it also to clean my acrylic sump that I got. A guy at the LFS went bizarke when he found out that I did that...said that it could hold onto the bleach and release it back into the water. That was the first I heard of it and I had no problem what-so-ever with my tank.

What Salisito is trying to find out is this.

The 150 that i got had old coloraine dried to the glass and both overflows and i am trying to get it to look brand new again to start over. I was looking to see of there is something that can be sorayed on it or soaked on it to just peal off the old coraline and gunk.

I will try taking my tank out on the porch and filling it with vinagar and water and go from there. I was trying to avoid scraping it but if i have to i have to.

Any other ideas would be great and for those that answered thank you very much.
