Whats the mininum hours of light for coral?

    Whats the min. amount of time of lighting should I give my corals per day?

    I think it's six hours... But I may be wrong. It also depends on the type of corals and the type of lighting.

    I would say 8-12 hours depending on what type and how much you feed it.

    The minimum I have run is 8 hrs actinic and 6 hours daylight. This is under PCs and only while fighting algae. Once the slimy stuff was under control, it was back to 12 hrs actinic and 10 hrs daylight.

    I run MH 5-6 hours only using 14k bulbs in the evening. Don't see any negative effect at all.
