whats the name of this coral?

    It is definitely an LPS, not an SPS or any softy.

    I would say of any of the guesses so far, the galaxia is the best guess.

    It could be a blastomussa, but the way the corallites are arranged on the ded part of the rock tells me it is probably the galaxia.

    Its not a pavona, the old skeleton screams LPS... BUT the polyps don't look like galaxea either.... If it was galaxea you would see flesh in between the polyps, connecting each other... Have you attempted to touch the polyps?

    I can pretty much rule out SPS, most of your encrusting ones have smaller polyps than branching ones..

    Honestly without seeing it closer it looks like a clove of sorts...

    The skeleton reminds me of my galaxea but the polyps look different. Never seen this coral before.
