Sorry to burst your bubble but if your inline TDS meter is hooked up properly you are actually reading your RO water TDS on the IN probe and your RO/DI on the OUT probe, not your tap water.

My tap water varies between 500 and 900 with parts of the city over 1200. Thats the Phoenix metro area using Salt River and Colorado River waters. Now you know how the Salt River gots its name and where all the minerals went from the formation of the Grand Canyon! We are consuming it.....

You and your utility would not want water with a TDS of 1, it would be extremely agressive and eat your pipes and plumbing fixtures.

I need to get mine tested for Belle Chasse, LA....how do you guys test yours? Through the rodi filters?

I used tap water before at my old house in algiers, LA (about 10 minutes from downtown new orleans, and roughly 5 minutes from belle chasse, but a whole different parish) and the corals survived and thrived. The water in belle chasse is making me struggle to even maintain coral from what it seems...=___= guess the rodi filter is gonna go high gear next week...

You mean 90 in, after RO is 1 and after RO/DI is 0 TDS.

Yes, you need a TDS meter, preferrably handheld and sample points in your RO/DI system so you can test the tap water from the faucet, RO only between the membrane and the DI cartridge and final or RO/DI effluent or treated water.

Yes 90 at tap with handheld TDS meter.. On the "In Out" meter the In is 1 and out is 0.. Yes you are correct that the "In" is read after the RO and the "out" is after the RODI... Highest I have tested my tap was 112... I even tapped into the ice maker supply with the TDS meter that came on the spectrapure DI to compare my handheld and they both read almost identical of each other...

How could I have missed something so obvious! I feel like an idiot lol. Gonna have to get an accurate test before any stage of filtration and get back to the thread lol
