    greeny,
get some photos of the "feather dusters" There are many things it could be...least of all a feather duster, I know from experience that aiptasia could very well be your new uninvited guest... don't be alarmed, many folks keep'em around. But they can become troublesome as far as propagation is concerned, could reproduce all about your tank... don't try to pull them out, that helps them spread, and lemon juice will kill them.8)
BUT...we dont know...we need some photos to look at. : ) They are a common hitchhiker.
The black hairlike worm...does it have grey rings about it?....or just reeeal long black hairs poking and probing?
Again, hook up some photos, and post it in the ID THIS section of this forum, and I'm sure you'll have all the info you need on your unknown critters.
    Good Luck...
oh were on ID this....my Bad :) too early ; )
    LG

I would go get the rock out of the trash and, at the very least, practice the nuking and recuring process. Perfect opportunity. That is.....if you do not want to keep it as is of course.

just read the bit around the black worm - just real thin long hair probing in and out - no discernable rings, Camera - bit of a hobby of mine, they were taken on a casio 12mp ex-z1200 (manual focus and extreme macro used normal domestic bulb no flash), photos of the feather duster type thing here

Photos of my real feather dusters and what i think is an anenomie here and my fine shrimpy friend (could'nt resist ony £20 hope they live for the dusters and the cleaner shrimp) (links again as big file size , although photos through glass are difficult so not quite as good quality)

just to be clear the black wormthing is literally like 1 black hair, nothing coming off it or any discernable markings and yes it seems to be very long - will get photos of both worms (the red one i saw when i was adding the rock and the lil black one)

Dont throw it out. You should "cook" the rock, which has nothing to do with how it sounds.. its a terrible name for it.

Put the rock in a colored tub or clean garbage can, so that no light can get through. Put a secure lid on it and leave it in this tub with a heater and a powerhead for about 6 weeks. The algae will have died off, as will any hitching corals (bummer), but the bright side is that your pod population will have exploded.

Or.. if you really want to throw it out... I will gladly pay shipping to my place ;)
