whats this red stuff?

    Yeah, I could see that. They form calcareous shells, which can be sharp. I didn't realize that they colonized (assuming that's what they did in the pic within the link). I have always thought of forams as microscopic (although I have seen a white specs of them with the naked eye in Antarctic core samples).

    tanks for all the help guys, it wasnt a coral it was Foraminiferans of some kind. determined by touching it. (it was hard) if not harmful ill probly keep it in there for color!
