    This unknown coral showed up in my biocube 14. I haven't added anything to the tank for over 6months, but anyway this coral is diameter of a pea. brownish red tentacles greenish tint to the base and there is a mouth in the center its white and shaped like butterfly around the mouth.

    its some sort of nem. not aiptasia, or mojano. someone more versed will know

    im wondering if it could be some form of fungia also. looks cool whatever it is. lol

    It's a non-photosynthetic cup coral. It's harmless.

    she will need to spot feed it then?

    Did you see the slide show? I spot fed some arcti-pods an it immediatly ate them up fast.

    Good call inwall. My experience with cup corals... they survive in moderately low flow area and feed on nutrients in the water. Ive had 3 pop up here and there. I spot fed, but Im not sure it made a difference. The few Ive had were in low light areas.

    Do all cup coral have a skeleton base? This is attached to a branching rock.
