O.k. Now, what are all of your other parameters i.e. Ammonia, Nitrite, nitrate, PH and Alk.

Ammonia was at .25, NO[SUB]2[/SUB]was at 0, and NO[SUB]3[/SUB] was at 0, pH was between 7.6 and 7.8 by the test kit, I didn't test for alk. All of those were right before the W/C.

are you using the API test kit??? any ammonia is not good, although my experience with the api test kit is that even at 0 it kinda of looks like .25.

Yeah, I'm used the API one. It was at school and my marine sci teacher said .25 was good and I should be fine.

I don't like the Ammonia. You should not be registering any. Is this tank less than 4 mos. old? The PH is quite low and since it is low your Alk is more than likely off also. If you have some Baking Soda, add 1 teaspoon per 20 gal. of water volume each day until you get the PH up to 8.0-8.4. Do not try to raise it in one day, go slowly. You need to check your ALk. Before raising the PH, check it first thing in the morning before the lights come on, mid-day and in the eve just before the lights go off to allow you to see if there are substantial fluctuations going on. If you can respond to these issues we will be that much closer to figuring things out. If you want, also, explain your acclimating procedure.

Alright it may take me a little to get the results. I'll be going off for the holidays, but now it's just got some corals. How should I work on Ammonia?

Yeah with the API test kits it is really easy to see the ammonia as 0.25. We watched our nitrites and nitrates spike and then hit zero...and yet our ammonia remained at 0.25. We took some water to the LFS and they used a different test kit and tested zero.

Also, I hate to say this but let's not let it off the hook just yet. Were all these fish from the same LFS? Does the LFS have any sort of reputation for selling unhealthy fish?
