    I doubt it was Ich was the deaths seemed to happen very quickly. Also, you have a very low ph, one of the biggest problems with the world's oceans is that the excess CO2 in the atmosphere is dissolving in the oceans, effectively lowering the Ph and killing off coral reefs. Are you running a skimmer? If not, you could have very little dissolved oxygen in the water, that could account for the low ph and possible the deaths.

    As already asked, do you add freshly mixed salt water directly to the tank?

    I have let it sit for a day before and didn't notice any difference so I took the chance. The salt I used was from my school and it always clouds up, we leave a 5g bucket mixed and it still does it so I don't know what's up with that.

    Maybe you might try an air stone running in the water. If you want to contain the noise and bubbles, maybe run it into a chamber of the HOB filter?
