i got a hairy mushroom about 2 weeks ago and it was doing fine, this morning the one on top looks like it melted into the rock, and the one on the side looks like it will slide off, do i need to put the hole rock just on the bottom and set it in the sand? it was fine for 2 weeks, i just have t5 lights on a 75 gal, my meters are all good, don't know what happend, they liked it there for 2 weeks, any help would be appreciated, i'm new to this and this is my first coral, thanks in advance

Mushrooms will propagate like that. They simply slide over on the rock they are attached to leaving a small piece behind that will grow into a new baby shroom. Either that or it is just not happy where it is. Most shrooms like lower flow and light.

so should i just move the rock in the sand or just leave it alone, it is about 3in off the ground and there is not a lot of flow where it is right now

Can you post a pic? Also, what size tank do you have and what lighting? I know you said T5s but bulb count and wttage would help. Mushrooms are pretty hardy though. If the shroom doesn't like it there it will detach it self from the rock and float around in the tank til it finds a spot it's happy.

with your t5's 3ins inst going to make if a difference. I'd just leave them where they are. if it gets worse than move them to a completely different side of the tank with different flow and different light.
