Initially you were worried about your hydrometer not being correct, are you sure you've got an exact result? If you were topping off with saltwater then yes it'll be higher, but if it's not accurate you don't know how much by and how much of an adjustment you're making by adding fresh. If you've got a reliable result, then continue what you're doing, but if you're not 100% sure, i'd get a reading on a refractometer or done by your LFS.

Ok! My anemone has gotten really big and looks really healthy. Now i am wondering if i should continue with this process because if everything is doing so good, I mean, why change?I will continue with a one more gallon transfer today until i see some answers. I was thinking, how about continue to do 1 gallon then two gallon transfer and 1 gallon and 2 gallon and so on and if i see that anything is doing wrong i will stop for one or two days until it regains it's power lost. I will post some pics of the anemone! It is a really and truly fasinating animal!!!! Please answer my question!!! Thanks for all the help!!:)

don't freak out too much i think avg seawater specific gravity is actually like 1.035

-edit did some more reading and red sea can get up to around 1.037, other places 1.027-28 is normal. it is just more expensive to keep so much salt in your system .

bama meant get a refractometer ;)

IMO, you don't know what your SG actually is. I agree it's probably high, but don't think you know what it is, so you don't know how much you need to lower. one step at a time here.

the biggest draw back to real high SG (IMO) is having to acclimate things that generally arrive in 1.022-1.024 water... would take forever to acclimate it up to 1.03 or something around there... that alone would be cause enough for me to lower it closer to 1.027 or something.
