biggest pet peeve is water changes.

monitoring temperatures, monitoring salinity, add more water, not enough salt, garden hoses, water on the floor, water dripping down the front pane, it goes on forever.

the regurgitation (with no actual experience of topic) of false information as "facts" on forums.

It was a while before I was able to sort out useful advise from just plain old junk advise that gets passed around a lot.

constantly trying to find the ideal location for various coral (eventhough I know I am doing more harm then help by moving them often). OCD I guess

How about people using major appliances all at once that are on the same breaker as the aquarium causing everything to shut off for hours without restarting properly.

Thankfully that system had a battery backup and there was no harm done.

Really though, must you use the washing machine, dryer, and blow dry your hair at the same time?! Yeesh...

Needless to say the aquarium is on its own breaker now.

Question is why did you have a aquarium in your laundry room and why were you drying your hair in there? Lol jk

I had a feeling that would come up!

Renovated the basement so that it had a large entertainment room with a bathroom as well as a laundry room. Did not really plan to have the aquarium down there at first but it turned out to be the best place for it. The electrical was done before I decided to put the tank down there.

As for the hair dryer, I was using the upstairs bathroom and she (the girlfriend) "needed" to dry her hair that very moment after starting her second load of laundry.

    Make sense now? :p

Biggest pet peeve is elitism on some forums as well as the "Rules of Reefkeeping" that are so often dated or plain wrong.

I think the pet peeve is more about reef keeping and not reef keeping forums :)

Mine would be the annoying itty bitty bit of algae on the sand I can never get rid of. Or as previously mentioned, timing the siphon right, because saltwater with fish poop in it is gross.
