It is my honor. Through my research I found that they are using any type of aquarium setup for people that were severely injured, in senior facilities, and children with adhd. It lowers blood pressure and allows you to interact and focus among other things.

From since I was a child, I have been mesmerized by the ocean and all that is within it.

I remember when my mom got me a 10 gallon tank for xmas one year, I was 12 and I didnt ask for it. So I started the typical FW community tank, and was all excited! little did she or I know what was to come. Within about 3-4 years I had 10 tanks running all over the house, but mostly in my bedroom. I was breeding cichlids, and trading them in at the LFS for saltwater credit. That's how I could afford it at the time, I also mowed lawns, and it all went to my "addiction".

fast forward 22 years later....and I'm still addicted

I love being able to create a world, that hopefully will sustain and thrive. There is nothing cooler than to be able to provide an atmosphere where amazing living creatures can live and be happy. I love the fact that the possibilities are endless with this hobby. We know so little about the ocean, and how to recreate it in an aquarium, but it seems as the years go by, we continue to understand more and more.

Not really. I have some very funny stories that I'll share. The places where these are placed basically have all said they would kill me if I ever gave out their names. They don't want hobbyists thinking that they can continue to buy things and then dump them off when they get too big.

First off, THANK YOU VETERANS! Can't say it enough.

The most rewarding aspect of this hobby is getting something right. This hobby is very challenging and when I finally conquer something I get an enormous feeling of success. Thats my favorite part.

I like it all, but mostly I like to watch it. Watch the coral sway with the flow of the water, the crabs and the snails doing there thing, it's like a whole different world that I get to watch. I like to feed and watch them eat, watch them grow and have little baby coral.

I find it exciting. And beautiful:)

I was the same way when i was a kid, minus the breeding, i started off when i was 8 i got a used 10 gallon tank, and my LFS told me oh well fish are to hard for an 8 yr old, well, i did it, and i had iguana's and all sorts of things, and they LFS never had faith in me, when i was 12 i was dying to get a saltwater tank, BUT my LFS refused to sell them to me, they wouldnt sell me salt/food, anything retaining to saltwater, so as i grew up i just said forget it, but its always been my dream to have a saltwater tank, not even a reef, just fish, and well now im 20 yrs old and im doing it, i was back home a few weeks ago, and i stopped into that LFS, and guess what? they had NO saltwater fish anymore! and the dream continues, i will have an SPS tank eventually, slowly, i did just purchase a 210 gallon tank, but im not setting it up just quite yet, do 2 i am moving in may, but once im settled i would love some more help from the 3reef members, this is by far the BEST forum ive been on!! Thanks again!

I have learned so much that is one of the best things for me. I am trying to involve my children to the best of my ability. Of course the beauty of having a part of the ocean in the house.

I like the project, the thinking, the planing on how I can make things more interesting. I like the idea of getting new fish and new corals to make it different.

I like that it is art. Art that is never the same in appearance because its alive!
