My wife and I want a mandrin dragonet. How do you know when you have enough pods for a mandrin? I can see them crawling all over the rocks and SB. I have alot of them in my fuge also. I would like to add one I just do not want it to suffer from malnutrition.

how old is the tank? you have lots of rock so i would assume once the population is established it would be ok. i have one in my 90 and its doing well.

I broke down my 72 and moved almost everything over to my 120 a little over a month ago. I seem to have a very good abundence of pods in the tank and the fuge. I was just curious on how one would know when they have the proper amount to sustain a mandrin. I dont mind waiting to get one I just want to make sure when I do its the right time.

if you see them all over at night then you have enough. If theres a fuge involved as well they will continue to replenish down there.
