when do you know when your tank is ready for coral?

    I just look and I have 2 t12vho actinic white and 2 t12 vho super actinic and on my ballast it said A4 by icecap (don't know what it means)
    Are those light ok

    The xenia is gone there is nothing on the rock anymore

    And my button polyps is mid way in my tank and it's 2 feet tall

    Those lights should be good for soft corals, if nothing else lol. I'm really not familiar, so I couldn't say about others, but that wouldn't be a reason for the Xenia to die off that quickly.

    You mentioned "po: 8".....phosphates of 8? That would be absurdly high, if I'm interpreting "po" right.

    Edit: also, did you buy the tank used?

    whats your copper at that could be doing it too and vho i grew hard and softies in no problems at all

    Yeah, you should buy a copper test kit, and if it's above 0, you bought a tank that had copper medication used in it. Copper kills anything that isn't a fish or bacteria, so that would explain the corals dying.

    completely agree i am thinking you will have to let it run its course if you are running active charcoal it should go away over time
