    If these readings are correct, you don't need buffer at this time.
    There is a big difference between what you got with the first kit in meq, and what you got with the newer kit in dKH. The meq related to 9 dKH would be 3.2 so one kit or the other is not reading right, or, the water conditions have changed.
    Check again just to verify so you don't end up doing something that isn't needed.

    I HAVE TO WAIT TILL PAYDAY FOR THE MAG TEST. i READ IT'S NOT THAT IMPORTANT. i REALLY DON'T HAVE ANY CORALS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT MY SHRIMP AND CORALINE ALGAE. i WILL BE GETTING THE CALCIUM TEST IN A FEW DAYS. I'M HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING AN AFFORDABLE MAG TEST...ANY IDEAS? I THINK MY CALCIUM MAY BE LOW, MY KH IS IN NORMALS LEVELS.

    I would worry about magnesium because if your mag is off, you'll never get your calcium and alk in line. If you don't get your mag/ca/alk in line, you will not grow coralline. Salifert makes a good magnesium test kit but it may be hard to find so try Seachem or Lamotte if you can't find Salifert
