i think youre good to go in adding your 1st fish. any idea what you want to add? my suggestion is a fish of a hardy nature. e.g a clown or two.

It is o.k. now to add fish, 1 or 2. Yes, Clowns are cute and tough, however, they are very territorial and can become little bullies. 3 Green Chromis may be a good beginning or a Royal Gramma or a 6 lined Wrasse. If you are fixed on the Clowns they should be added last after the more peaceful fish are well established and healthy (about a month). I would add some Marine-Max one day prior to any new addition.

Occ. clowns are very unlikely to be too aggressive, compared to any other clown. It's definitely not like adding a damsel (even though a clown is a type of damsel) in terms of aggression. The sixline is much more likely to be a bully than a occ clown, IMO.

my first fish for all my tanks have been True perculas clowns, or B&W clowns.
never had a problem with agression.

First off, the wife wants a royal gramma plus me and my son want the above pair of clowns. So should we add the gramma first and then the pair of chosen clowns or visa versa? It was my understanding that the gramma was more territorial, so I thought I would add the clowns 1st. As for the Marine-Max, what will that do?

I would go with the clowns first. They'll be the least aggressive of the fish unclejed listed, barring some gigantic disparity between all of your individuals and the norm.
