i honestly think the clowns are better to be added first, then the royal gamma. i dont think youll have any problems this way.
    what size tank is this?

edit: i just read your sig.. its a 50g right?

OK, very confused now. Here is my fish stock list.

    1 - 2 ocellarius clowns
    1 royal gramma
    1 horned blenny
    1 banggai cardinal (possibly)
    2 feather dusters

Now I'm not sure if this is too much for my tank, however they wont be added at once. I would like to know the order to put these in.

    My choice for adding would be;
    Banggai
    horned blenny
    Royal Gramma
    Clowns

It's cool to add them first, Brian. They really aren't aggressive.

My true perc female is the meanest fish in my tank, it has bullied my latest addition half to death, I think I may have to take the new guy out.

My sixline wrasse has been the most docile towards new fish.

I guess it all depends on the specific fish's personalities

My reasoning was that the first 3 choices are somewhat reclusive, especially at first, and need to stake out their hiding places. The clowns will stay out more. Of course putting the clowns in with an anemone may be the ticket.

I have a Tall Hex, so the anemone is out of the question because of my lighting. I do have plenty of hiding placed for the gramma and the blenny. However I will be upgrading to a 90 gallon reef within the next 2 months with proper lighting and plan on adding soft corals

This (HEX) will end up being a holding tank (my family want a few fish) untill the 90 gallon is up and running. Should I hold off on above said fish other than clowns? Need some help here!

Well, clowns can get much more aggressive when they have an anemone they're protecting. It's part of the reason occelaris clowns are considered to be less aggressive to begin with; most are captive bred, and don't instantly host and have a territory like wild caught clowns do.

WOW! I feel the presure over here! Well then, yes, get the clowns only for the hex. It will be easier that way.
