When you guys stir or move around your sand or if you have aragonite crushed coral do you see dusty detris float around? I only feed once a day and sparingly, a few times a wk I add a small amount of zoo and phytoplex. I have some diatoms and a little green algae on the glass which I clean and when I do a water change I syphon it. I clean my filter once/twice a week and it's never really dirty, my skimmer skims well? is it that my tank is just newer? 4 mnths

Sounds normal to me. The filter will catch some of the bebre but most will settle elsewhere or get caught up in other areas of the tank. Nothing abmormal.

It's good for detritus to float around once in a while. It will feed feather worms, sponges, tunicates, etc. Some fish like the mandaring dragonet or lawnmower will kick up detritus every now and then.

If you have diatoms and green algae growin on the glass, you might have too many phosphates and nitrates lingering.

I have checked the nitrates and phosphates and they are both 0.
