Hello this might be a wierd question, but here goes. I added a refugium to my system and have 40 lbs of live sand along with chaeto. I researched and decided on the tigger pods--Drove half way across town on my lunch break, went through 2 toll booths, and spent 20.00 on these pods. They looked great in the bottle--all alive and well. I checked the date and they were fresh. I added them to my fuge and saw them all swimming and clinging to the walls--I have very very low flow in the fuge. I also read that these things breed in the chaeto and in the rubble. After the second day I have not seen a single one--That was 2 weeks ago. Did I do something wrong?? Did I waste 20.00 and tolls???

Well, they will hide and they will not be totally apparent in your fuge. However, I think I heard something around here saying that Tiger Pods are colder water and will die off in a reef tank. Not sure though. Someone else will need to chime in.

ok I'll wait and see what others say--P.S. They were being stored in the fridge, but the directions said this just slows them down

i am not sure about their temp needs. but the tiger pods i was looking at claimed they would popuate in a tropical enviorment. I can tell you that just becuase you dont see them doesnt mean they are not there. do you ever look for them at nite? or the organisms in your tank ate the whole population before they would establish in the tank

exactly, the colder temp slows their metablism and body functions. this will allow them to last longer on store shelves. if you have ever seen a warm bottle they movin

They would be the only living things in the Fuge--Other than the live sand--I doubt they all went to the DT

most likely your scooter blenny ate them all, or the majority of them

They'll find their way to the DT, unless you have some sort of physical barrier to the DT.

Either that or they are all hiding!!

Do they migrate to the bottom or swim freely in the water--There were so many of them, I find it hard to believe they all found theyre way out so fast
