no they will go into the DT. they live not just in the rocks/algae/etc. but the water column too! the idea of the fug is to hold a safe breeding place for the pods while others travel to the DT to feed its inhabitents. one of the main reasons to have pods. things eat them

Tiger pods are not the ones you want in your tank. These kind don't multiply like other pods. They will die off no matter how many you add. Buy Herpactacoid Copepods, which will multiply in your tank and are very high in Omega-3.

    DT's Live Marine Copepods

Copepods that actually thrive in reef aquariums!

These subtropical Harpacticoid copepods are a warm water species that will develop a thriving population in reef aquariums. Copepods are an especially nutritious small prey item for many corals and small fish. This species has an adult size of about 900 microns. Copepods feed on phytoplankton and are also an excellent scavenger, feeding on detritus of any kind. The best place for these copepods to reproduce and grow is in a refugium or aquarium. It is our intention to provide a starter culture of copepods that will thrive in reef aquariums. We cultured this species at an average temperature of 82.5°F (28°C), so it is a species that will do very well in a reef tank. These copepods are also very tolerant of cooler water and will do just fine in the 70’s, so they can be kept or cultured at normal room temperature. Harpacticoid copepods have a life span of approximately 2 months. Some of the adults that are harvested will be near the end of their life span. There will also be eggs hatching and other individuals that will not easily be visible without the aid of magnification. We have test jars that have been kept for months and it is obvious by their population that they are reproducing in the jars. They are not invisible! These are very small copepods even as adults. The copepidite and nauplius stages are much smaller. The copepods can be seen by using a flashlight to shine light up through the bottom of the jar while looking down from the top. Many of the copepods will remain on the bottom. Watch for very tiny white shapes, some of them may be moving when the light shines on them. They will also be seen on the sides of the jar.

You can find these on Ebay aswell. I got a 5000 copepod bottle from ebay for about $40

Hey buddy how's it going I think I know where you Pods went :) fish ate them A diamond Goby love to eat them as a main course and desert . those blennys will eat them as will coral beauty ever noticed how that one prowls the rocks and pecking away ? and every time that Goby munches a mouth of sand its eating them.. As do all sand sifting animals .

That was one huge misconception about the DSB with sand clumping up and then all the DSB guru's would yell add a sand sifting star or goby to eat what was already not in enough numbers .. Thats why we cll a refugium a refugium and now I see people putting animals and sand sifters in them LOL

regardless where your fish are, the pods are still going to find their way to the DT

As said before, they have all died. Sorry. But the fact is, is that Tiger pods are a COLD water species that will never thrive in a tropical enviroment. They are good for a one time feeding type deal, but they are useless if you are seeding a tank

well say you have 1/10th flow going through your 'fuge and then the fuge flows into the sump...(I'm just assuming, correct me if i'm wrong) and then your return pump from your sump is running at around 500-600GPH (again, just assuming!!) your fuge will do a complete turn over 15 times every hour. and then that turnover will then get shot up into your DT 16 times every hour. if my math is right, that will give your pods AMPLE opportunity to find their way to the DT...

Give it time man!! They'll reproduce before you know it and your fish will have a wonderful buffet of pods to feast on!! thats the point of a putting them in your fuge, so they have a nice place to get it on ;)

EDIT: or as packleader has stated, they've all died...

Packleader I think I will have to go with you on this one---It is the only thing that explains how fast 1000 pods dis-appeared---I will try one of the other types--I wish it would have said something on the packaging before I commited
